Established in Mauritius in 2004, CIDP is an international Contract Research Organisation (CRO) offering end-to-end services, from preclinical and clinical testing to support safety and efficacy claims, to biostatistics, data management, and medical writing. With a presence across four continents, CIDP provides access to a highly diverse volunteer panel, covering phototypes I to VI and a wide range of ethnicities through its centres in Mauritius, India, Brazil, and Romania.
Recognised for its expertise in photobiology studies, the CIDP Centre in Romania offers a comprehensive range of tests, including SPF, UVA, PPD, and SPF with water resistance (WR/VWR), all conducted in accordance with ISO, JCIA, and COLIPA guidelines. In the field of stress-related studies, CIDP has further expanded its SPF testing capabilities to assess resistance to sand, sweat, rubbing, and friction, while progressing toward protocols aligned with ISO 23698. More recently, the centre has invested in advanced in vitro testing methodologies, notably the double plate method in accordance with ISO 23675, positioning it among the few centres capable of offering both in vivo and in vitro testing approaches.

CIDP also provides protocols for safety testing including phototoxicity, patch tests, HRIPT, observational, epidemiological, and consumer tests. Equipped with the latest technology such as VISIA CR, Colorface, Antera, Primos, Dermascan C, Spectrophotomer, C-Cube, Skincam Pro and Fotofinder, CIDP objectively assesses efficacy claims for various products including anti-acne, anti-wrinkles, pigmenting/depigmenting, whitening, deodorants, melasma, hair care, nails care, and more.
In the field of testing of Aesthetic products, CIDP also proposes specialised clinical protocols incorporating techniques such as chemical peels, injectables, microneedles/micro-cone patches, lip enhancement therapies, and laser treatments. These protocols include assessment by qualified professionals using validated clinical grading scales including the Roland Bazin Skin Aging Atlas, GAIS (Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale), WSRS (Wrinkle Severity Rating Scale), and the Rossi Scale.
All CIDP affiliates hold ISO 9001:2015 certification, and its Romanian affiliate is accredited for French Research Tax Credit (CIR). The group was awarded a Silver Medal by EcoVadis in recognition of sustainability achievements and has demonstrated a strong cybersecurity posture in the Cybervadis assessment and was recently recommended for the ISO 27001 certification.
