Syres, specialist in consumer testing for beauty and personal care products

18 October 2024

After the success of in-Cosmetics Bangkok 2023, SYRES is thrilled to take part in the upcoming in-Cosmetics Asia 2024, Asia’s premier ingredient event, alongside Skinobs, The Testing Sourcing Hub for Beauty.

As the French specialist in consumer testing for Beauty and Personal Care Products (BPC), SYRES supports clients at every stage of their product’s lifecycle. Leveraging their expertise, they create tailored protocols—including quantitative, qualitative, and sensory analysis—to understand consumer behavior. Their high-quality panels include 5,000,000 testers worldwide, with 60,000 in France and 7,000 in Singapore, providing diverse and representative insights.
Their capacity for adaptation and scientific rigor has earned them a solid reputation in France and internationally. They collaborate with renowned brands to provide precise feedback on the quality, efficacy, and image of their products.

Celebrating 25 Years of Quant and Qual Expertise

SYRES offers quantitative consumer tests and sensory analyses to assess product perception by a large number of users, either at home or in evaluation centers. These tests include single product evaluations, comparative evaluations (product vs. benchmark, active vs. placebo), and tests under medical supervision.
Quant tests, aimed at evaluating efficacy and acceptability, also include tests with photos, self-evaluation tests, usage tests, multicentric tests, consumer insights, controlled wear tests, sensory analyses, formulation assistance, packaging tests, claims validation, and concept tests.
SYRES also conducts qualitative consumer tests to uncover the emotions, deep motivations, and expectations of consumers. These studies involve various methods such as flash tests, sniff tests, packaging tests, and concept tests.
Additionally, they conduct exploratory and prospective studies, thematic sessions, formula and claims validations, sensory analysis, focus groups, and in-home face-to-face interviews. These qualitative studies can be conducted at SYRES facilities in Paris in their unique Test Bar concept, and in Singapore, or at client locations in major cities across the world, offering a multi-centric approach to testing.

A Diverse and High-Quality Panel

With a proprietary panel of over 60,000 volunteers in France, 7,000 in Singapore, and more than 5 million worldwide, SYRES’ panel is their major asset. They rigorously select their panelists to guarantee precise and representative results. Their documented databases allow them to track each test and record all necessary information for a comprehensive analysis.
The tolerance database systematically records discomforts and intolerances, with over 100,000 observations currently in France, aiming to position products among all similar products studied by SYRES in terms of tolerance and overall appreciation.

An Ethical and Responsible Approach

SYRES takes pride in adhering to strict ethical values and ensuring that all partners do the same. This year, they were honored to receive the Ecovadis silver medal, placing them among the top 15% of the most responsible companies.

In-Cosmetics Korea 2024: A Collaboration Opportunity

At In-Cosmetics Korea, SYRES invites attendees to visit them at booth E40 to discover how their rigorous studies can support product development. Their consumer surveys, both quantitative and qualitative, will provide valuable insights to refine formulations and marketing strategies.
