Most of the eyes on the skin are focused on these two opposing functions. The skin strives to maintain a delicate balance between the opposing roles of ‘protection’ and ‘delivery’. Dermatologists and cosmetics researchers are strive to solve these twin challenges through science. The Korean Society of Skin Barrier Research (Chairman Jeong Se-kyu, Chairman Hong Seung-pil) held the ‘2025 Korean Society of Skin Barrier Research’ at the Daeyang AI Hall of Sejong University, Gunja-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 13th and shared the latest research results related to the skin barrier.
In his opening remarks, Jeong Se-kyu, president of the Korean Skin Barrier Society, said, “Recently, the skin barrier has been attracting attention as a key element closely related to various skin conditions such as skin health, aging, pigment diseases, and inflammatory diseases, beyond the concept of a simple protective barrier.”
