PhD Trials, a well-known CRO for in-vivo testing, has developed a new methodology to evaluate the impact of products on longevity. The method uses in-vivo Confocal Microscopy or LCOCT images to target Stratum granulosum changes induced by ageing. With this new method, it is possible to calculate the density and the shape of the cells and the intercellular distance in order to substantiate the anti-ageing effects of products at this epidermal level. This new method will be presented at in-cosmetics Global next April.
