Scientific studies – in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo – using a selection of neurocosmetic active ingredients have detected new pathways, identified neuroreceptors and followed neuromediators, and measured the resulting effects on the human well-being. This study paper presents a mini review of the role of the senses in humans and their benefits for cosmetic use, including concrete examples of ingredients, products, and markers as well as recent proprietary data from active fragrance cosmetic use.
