THE WHAT? AK Plaza, the department store unit of K-beauty giant Aekung, has unveiled a prototype store that will produce bespoke cosmetics in house, according to a report published by Aju Daily.
THE DETAILS The pop-up employs technology developed by local tech start-up Lilycover, and will be open to visitors of the Seongnam department store through April 22.
THE WHY? The kiosk is a great way to test the market for bespoke cosmetics as well as draw shoppers in store in this pandemic era. The company will also attract repeat custom via its dedicated subscription program.
