BASF Develops a New Generation of Sunscreen Simulator via Cosmetics Design Europe

BASF has revised its Sunscreen Simulator it uses at its digital lab for care formulations, making it both more user-friendly and versatile.

The internet-based solution enables simulators to explore the performance of sunscreens being developed before starting costsly in-vitro and in-vivo studies. However, now it has been updated to feature immediate dynamic calculations and side-by-side comparisons of multiple formulations, to name just one of the enhancements.

The simulator has helped sunscreen manufacturers all over the world to enhance their formulations, and BASF claims that the latest development now serves to make that process both more ecient and quicker. Easier sunscreen formulation development The latest version of the sunscreen simulator makes it easier for formulators because it now hooks up to all screen sizes, including smartphones, as well as desktop computers.

The BASF development team says that users can now customize their simulator platforms to suit parameters such as sun protection factor (SPF) and Ultraviolet A (UVA) metrics, as well as region and application amount. On top of that, favourites and projects are easier to save and work o in the future, making referencing and data exportation much easier.
