On June 27th, China National Institutes for Food and Drug Control Released 4 drafts of testing methods of Sunscreens in Cosmetics. The first draft Testing Method of Sunscreens in Cosmetics establishes a High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) method for content determination of 3- Benzylidene camphor and 22 other kinds of components, among which Disodium salt of 2, 2’ -bis-(1,4-phenylene)1H-benzimidazole-4-6-disulfonic acid uses methanol (0.02mol/L) and ammonium solution (ph5.0) as mobile phase while 3-Benzylidene camphor and the remaining components use methanol-tetrahydrofuran-perchloric acid solution as mobile phase. The method is applicable to the testing of these 23 kinds of components in liquid water-based cosmetics, creams, lotions, powders, wax-based cosmetics and etc.

The second draft Skin Sensitization: Murine Local Lymph Node Assay: DA (LLNA: DA) and the third draft Skin Sensitization: Local Lymph Node Assay: BrdU-ELISA (LLNA: BrdU-ELISA) stipulate basic principles and testing requirements of the testing method and are both applicable to the testing of skin sensitization.

The last draft Revised Guidelines of Technical Safety Standard for Cosmetics (Physical and Chemical Testing Method) stipulates the procedure of revision and revises some technological standards to keep the pace with international practices.
