Controlling Humidity for Hair Testing, by Bossa Nova

Humidity has a remarkable bearing on hair quality. To measure the impact of a product in a wide range of climates as well as to insure test repeatability, it is necessary to control the humidity level during testing.

It is especially useful for frizz-control and volumizing claims.

Our see-through humidity box and controller were designed with cosmetic professionals for cosmetic professionals. Together they provide an easy-to-use solution for conditioning hair tresses in a humidity-controlled environment and performing time lapses and other live measurements.

The see-through and light-weight box can hold several swatches at the same time for swatches storage, measurements and even conditioning if you need your test swatches to be kept at the same humidity level for several hours. The humidity controller is able to automatically adjust the humidity inside the box with a tolerance of 2% in a range between 50% and 95%.

Settings are easily controlled via software, which also provides a live humidity and temperature reading inside the box.

The humidity box can be operated with a manual or automatic control of the humidity. This humidity box has been designed to be used conjointly with two of our systems: the BOLERO Lite and the SHUFFLE. It also includes the BOLERO 360 and HULA attachments. Used together, the user is able to capture time-lapses of hair swatches and the evolution of frizz and/or volume within a set humidity controlled environment.
