Adipocytes from the hypodermis play a role in the mechanical and physiological properties of the skin. These cells are not limited to their capacity to fill volumes by accumulating lipids.

They also regulate the matrix production in the dermis with their endocrine function. D.I.V.A. Expertise has developed an in vitro model to assess the bi-directional interactions between the hypodermis and the dermis consisting in a 3D co-culture of human mature adipocytes and dermal fibroblasts.

This multiparametric and 96-wells model is an innovative and suitable tool to screen and evaluate the efficacy of new compounds with hydration and anti-aging properties.
