Infrared radiation is indirectly involved in skin photoageing as it induces the formation of ROS in the mitochondria of cells in the dermis and subcutaneous adipose tissues. Daniel Schmid, Franziska Wandrey, Esther Belser and Fred Zülli present a new active ingredient to target the effects of IR on skin ageing.
