Japan Released Cosmetic Skin Sensitization Test Alternative Method Guidelines via Chemlinked

In order to promote the use of skin sensitization test alternative methods (in vitro tests) for safety evaluation of quasi-drugs and cosmetics, Japan MHLW provide a guideline to explain examples and operations of these alternative methods.

The implementation of these alternative methods follows international standards. In this guideline, each method’s principle, test flow, test conditions, judgment are outlined.
