Providing worldwide in vitro solutions for safety and efficacy product evaluation in fields ranging from pharmaceuticals to cosmetics, STERLAB Cell Culture Laboratory is competent in the development of predictive, reliable and customized reconstructed tissue models, as an alternative to animal testing. Commercializing since 2010 a large and varied tissue models, STERLAB has become one of the actor on the market of “on demand” tissue models, entrusted with the partnership of several leaders of the aforesaid sphere of activity. STERLAB develops their product in recently installed facilities of 100 m², in accordance with ISO 9001 norm, backed by a team experienced in the fields of tissue engineering and cell toxicology. Specialized in the production and distribution of alternative solutions for the cosmetic industry, the company is in the “me-too” validation process with OECD in order to revise the Test Guideline n° 439 related to the testing procedure of in-vitro skin irritation on reconstructed human tissues.
Consecrated to answering a manifold need for satisfying and reliable quality tests, STERLAB has elaborated a large scope of reconstructed tissue models, compliant with ISO 9001/V2015, including Skin+® reconstructed epidermis, full thickness skin, “psoriasis like” epidermis or oral epithelium.
In addition, affected by the request of numerous companies and in a completeness and improvement approach of their solutions, STERLAB now offers ex-vivo skin samples acquired after cosmetic surgery. A non-exhaustive list of said tissues comprises full-thickness or dermatomized skin in a variety of customized formats, provided from neonatal foreskin or adult skin.
Applications of ex-vivo tissue samples include compound penetration, skin irritation, genotoxicity, sensitization tests, metabolism studying and primary cell isolation (kératinocytes, melanocytes and fibroblasts).
