Zurko Research: about Facial ageing

25 October 2019

Have you ever felt that you need to refresh or restart your face? Have you ever wanted to show off a revitalized and energized skin? Would you like to get rid of all that fine lines and wrinkles?

The skin aging is a natural process of our body that occurs by multiple causes. Since certain skin structures weaken, it shows signs of the passage of time with wrinkles or spots.

Among the skin aging causes, exposure to the sun (photoaging) and pollution are the main responsibles. Other factors that contribute to aging of the skin include stress, gravity, daily facial movement, obesity, and even sleep position.

One of the main causes of facial aging are sun UV rays, which produce wrinkles and spots. Prolonged sun exposure without adequate sun protection will cause these signs and thus premature aging.

Sun’s ultraviolet (UV) light damages the skin elastin. The breakdown of elastin fibers incites the skin to sag, stretch, and lose its ability to snap back after stretching.

Also, there is also a confirmed relationship between environmental pollution and skin aging. Exposure to small particles, nitrogen dioxide levels and high levels of ozone increase the number of spots on the skin and the formation of wrinkles. Likewise, tobacco induces to harmful stress in our skin and inhibits the body’s antioxidant defense, which may be involved in the aging process.

For last but not least, it is important to be aware that as we grow, our bodies can’t produce enough collagen to refill what has been lost, so the skin begins to lose its strength and elasticity over time. This is when fine lines and wrinkles start to appear.

In this way, a great ally to prevent and eliminate wrinkles and fix any damage mentioned above in our skin, are hyaluronic acid and vitamin C.
