A New Trends to Think About: Consumer Use-Tests by Evalulab

Evalulab, CRO specializing in clinical trials, offers its services to meet the needs of companies wishing to respond effectively to this trend. The Consumer Use-Tests allow people participating in the test to personally experience cosmetic products and evaluate them by providing the maximum amount of valuable information on their effectiveness, safety and overall satisfaction.

In a Consumer Use-Test, a specific procedure is followed to gather feedback from participants. Here’s a simplified overview of the typical steps involved:

  1. Recruitment: Participants are selected based on specific criteria, such as age, gender, skin type, or other relevant factors, to represent the target consumer group.
  2. Product distribution: Selected participants are provided with the product (skincare, makeup, haircare…).
  3. Usage instructions: Participants are given clear instructions on how to use product. This ensures consistency & standardization throughout the test.
  4. Test period: In general, 28 days.
  5. Feedback collection: Participants have to provide detailed feedback on their experiences with the product through a self-evaluation questionnaire.
  6. Data analysis: The collected feedback is carefully analyzed by experts, considering different factors such as effectiveness, safety, ease of use, fragrance, texture, and overall satisfaction and other questions had suggested by their client.

By conducting Consumer Use-Tests, cosmetics companies can gather real-world feedback, refine their products, develop or troubleshoot new formulations.
