1. Neurosciences sensory studies

Supported by its expertise and research in Sensory sciences and Neurosciences, The Smell & Taste Lab has the opportunity to have its two abstracts submitted to the 33rd IFSCC Congress approved.
a. The first one conducted in collaboration with CNRS on How touchsmell congruence in cosmetic product use can influence user’s emotions and experience?”. The 1st part of the study presented at IFSCC22. It will also be published soon by the International Journal of Cosmetic Science. In this study, successful results show that for a given texture type, specific olfactory notes are necessary to lead to congruent crossmodal pairing product and that the crossmodal congruence influence user’s overall cosmetic product appreciation and experience.

b. The second one on The efficacy of intensive olfactory training with multisensory integration and attention towards odors, in relation to physical activitydemonstrates the benefits of olfactory training on cognitive functions. This study has been launched in collaboration with Prof. Thomas Hummel from Dresden Universitatsklinikum.

2. Cosmetotest colloquium

a. The Smell & Taste Lab is proud to hold a conference on Wellageing and Neurocosmetics at clinical and preclinical tests in cosmetics symposium Cosmetotest. This special program is organized for the 20th anniversary of SF2iC. Anne Abriat will highlight the benefits of active fragrances and of crossmodal congruence in cosmetic use. Indeed, many active ingredient suppliers are increasingly offering specialties ingredients with neurocosmetic properties on Wellbeing and Wellaging. It meets the expectation of consumers in this significant market share of Health & Beauty.

3. Olfaction & Perspectives Congress

a. As a member of the scientific committee since 2013, Anne Abriat is working on the importance the sense of Smell on Health & Beauty, into our Environment The Olfaction & Perspectives Congress 6th Edition, which aims to share Innovations in olfaction, will take place on 21st March24. The program will be shared by Cosmetic Valley and ISIPCA in the coming months.

4. The Smell & Taste Lab news

a. The Smell & Taste Lab is continuing its customized trainings, thanks to Swissmedic network with patients who would like to improve their sense of Smell, for a better quality of life and Wellageing.

b. The Smell & Taste Lab continues to follow the latest trends and Innovations that lead the Health & Beauty industry, in attending international events such as InCosmetic23, VitaFood23 and SIMPPAR23. We would like to advise our presence at the 15th PANGBORN Sensory Science Symposium this summer in France.

c. We look forward to learning about the new challenges and opportunities; the scientific world will respond at IFSCC23 in Barcelona in September and, of course, presenting our 2 scientific posters!
