NativeSkin human skin models cross the bridge between in vitro and in vivo by Genoskin

NativeSkin ® human skin models cross the bridge between in vitro and in vivo clinical testing procedures. NativeSkin ® products use donated human skin tissue to create ready-to-use human skin models that are kept alive for 7 days in a solid, nourishing matrix and dedicated culture medium.

NativeSkin® human skin models are presented as standardized multi-well testing kits with round human skin biopsies that remain in direct contact with the air and allow for easy manipulation and topical application.

NativeSkin®Plus Human Skin Models

Product Description

NativeSkin®Plus human skin models are similar to our NativeSkin® models since they also provide a new and reliable tool to conduct a wide range of studies on human skin. NativeSkin®Plus human skin models use real human skin that is kept alive for 7 days in a solid, nourishing matrix and a specific culture medium.

The models are presented in a standardized multi-well testing kit that contains round human skin biopsies. In our NativeSkin®Plus models, these skin biopsies are also surrounded with a flat and inert polymer ring to avoid lateral diffusion during topical applications.

Use & Applications

NativeSkin®Plus models provide a new testing method to avoid animal experiments. The models offer easy access to the morphology, structure, barrier, integrity and cell viability of real human skin. This enables to test for valid human skin response and conduct much broader studies. We currently suggest the following areas of use:

  • percutaneous absorption and skin penetration tests
  • topical applications
  • systemic applications
  • repeated dose assay
  • efficacy testing
  • drug delivery tests
  • pharmocokinetic and pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) studies
  • dermal studies
  • epidermal studies
  • transdermal patch testing
  • long-term studies
  • tape stripping tests
  • intradermal injection tests
  • testing of finished formulations
  • final toxicity testing prior to clinical trials in humans
