Who will buy? L’Oréal, P&G and J&J vie for IoT skin care device that tracks usage

Start-up Feeligreen has attracted the attention of several major cosmetic manufacturers with a newly developed skin care device based on the Internet of Things that, when used in conjunction with certain creams, uses microcurrents and LEDs to treat wrinkles, cellulite, stretch marks and blemishes.

The device is controlled by an App, which tracks usage, sending data back to the manufacturer to feed into product development and marketing. The consumer, meanwhile, receives skin care recommendations.

Having exhibited at Cosmetics-360 in Paris, the company is now in talks with several major cosmetics companies, reportedly including P&G, L’Oréal and Johnson & Johnson, according to an article published by Marketing. “Most big brands understand what they need but are not really equipped to develop at the pace at which the Internet of Things industry is moving. That’s why they are in open innovation mode, searching for providers of solutions,” Founder Christophe Bianchi told Marketing.
