To evaluate cosmetic products efficacy, several biological models are available: in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo models. Ex vivo models are well known to be close to the normal skin, particularly explants, but cell culture conditions are not adapted to the stratum corneum. To solve these problems, we have developed Perfex vivo!

This new ex vivo model allows to perform in vivo biometrological measurements and to study the stratum corneum closer to normal environmental conditions. The skin can be exposed to a wide range of external aggressions (pollution, UVs, IR …) and the activity of the tested products can also be evaluated by classical technologies like analytical or biochemical or immunological assays, histological or genomic studies and physical measurement methods.
