Established in Mauritius in 2004, CIDP is an International Contract Research Organization (CRO) providing a full suite of services. These services range from preclinical and clinical testing to substantiate safety and efficacy claims of raw ingredients and cosmetic products, to biostatistics, data management, and medical writing. With a presence on four continents, CIDP benefits from unique access to a diverse panel of volunteers including African, Indian, Chinese, Caucasian, Hispanic, and more.

Recognized for its expertise in photobiology studies, CIDP offers a variety of tests such as SPF, UVA, PPD, SPF+WR/VWR tests according to ISO, FDA, JCIA, and COLIPA guidelines. Additionally, CIDP has expanded its services to include various variants of SPF testing such as Sand Resistance, Sweat Resistance, Rubbing Resistance, and Friction Resistance. CIDP also provides protocols for safety testing including phototoxicity, patch tests, HRIPT, observational, epidemiological, and consumer tests. Equipped with the latest technology such as VISIA CR, Colorface, Antera, Primos, Dermascan C, Spectrophotomer, and Fotofinder, CIDP objectively assesses efficacy claims for various products including anti-acne, anti-wrinkles, pigmenting/depigmenting, whitening, deodorants, melasma, hair care, nails care, and more.

Furthermore, CIDP has developed methodologies for substantiating claims against exposome. Utilizing its unique Controlled Pollution Exposure System (CPES), CIDP quantifies the vaporization of numerous pollutants on the skin at controlled flux and concentration. The organization also studies the mechanism underlying exposure to blue light using CIDP models emitting light at 415 nm or 450 nm. These methodologies, combining in vivo and ex vivo approaches, can be applied to face care as well as hair care products.

All CIDP affiliates hold ISO 9001:2015 certification, and its Romanian affiliate is accredited for French Research Tax Credit (CIR). Recently, the group was awarded a Silver Medal by EcoVadis in recognition of sustainability achievements and has demonstrated a strong cybersecurity posture in the Cybervadis assessment.
