All you need to know about preclinical and clinical testing is at Cosmetotest !
Building on the success of the last four editions, Cosmetotest returns in 2026 and will address new themes in order to bring together the academic and technological players in the field of cosmetic testing.
For its 5th edition, the symposium dedicated to cosmetics testing will take place on March 18 and 19, 2026 at the ENS in Lyon (France), on Jacques Monod campus and online.
A unique symposium, focused on the scientific validation of ingredients and finished products, spanning in-vitro and in-vivo methodologies
Cosmetotest has established itself as the annual international reference symposium, fully dedicated to the scientific and technological approach of preclinical and clinical testing for the skin, scalp, and hair. Since 2021, this event is distinguished by its focused scientific content, bringing together researchers, R&D managers, Contract Research Organizations (CROs), and instrumentation manufacturers from around the globe to explore innovations and trends in the critical field of beauty industry assessment. The May 2025 edition successfully gathered over 230 participants, attending both in-person and online from all over the world, featuring more than 40 academic, technological, and applied lectures, and 30 exhibitors.
Cosmetotest enables evaluation managers and R&D managers from all over the world to:
- Attend academic and applied conferences
- Interact with participants
- Meet test partners, exhibitors, CROs and instrumentation manufacturers
- Participate in equipment demonstrations
In May 2025, this event brought together more than 230 participants from all over the world for the Live version in Lyon and the hybrid mode. Over the course of 2 days, the Cosmetotest Symposium provided a wealth of information, enabling R&D and evaluation managers to listen to more than 40 academic, technological and applied conferences, exchange ideas with their colleagues from cosmetics and active ingredients brands, and chat with the speakers. Cosmetotest is a scientific and technological ecosystem that offers the opportunity to meet some thirty exhibitors, from CROs to instrumentation manufacturers, and to take part in demonstrations of measuring equipment.
An Expert Audience
Traditionally organized in Lyon, Cosmetotest now offers an online format to broaden its international outreach. It serves as a prime venue for the scientific and industrial evaluation community to exchange knowledge, draw inspiration from research findings, and discuss novel assessment strategies. This symposium empowers this expert community to shape the future of performance validation for beauty products.
A Hub of Innovation: The Role of Exhibitors
Cosmetotest is more than a lecture series; it is a professional exhibition facilitating targeted networking and the discovery of novel instrumental technologies.
The exhibition space unites key stakeholders essential to the validation of cosmetic products:
- Testing Partners (CROs) present their latest clinical and preclinical methodologies: Biomnigene, Byome Labs, Dr Goya Analisis, DWI Labs, Eurofins Dermscan, Inovapotek, J.S Hamilton Poland, Loretta, Molecularis, oloBion, PhDTrials, PKDerm, SGS Proderm, Vibiosphen, Zurko research.
- Instrumentation Manufacturers offer demonstrations of their measuring devices for the assessment of skin and its appendages: Canfield, Cortex, Damae Medical, Delfin, Eotech, Miravex, Monaderm, Orion, Pixience, Scibase.
Attendees have the unique opportunity to meet these exhibitors to directly discuss testing protocols, R&D project feasibility, and the latest innovations in performance objectification. The Cosmetotest Symposium is thus positioned as the essential event for professionals aiming to ensure the scientific validity and regulatory compliance of their product claims.

Program Synthesis: Exploring Novel Cosmetic Claims
The Cosmetotest program is structured over two days, exhaustively addressing evaluation challenges through academic lectures and technological short talks, employing an integrated in-vitro and in-vivo approach for each theme.
Each session offers a balance between academic lectures (CNRS, Universities) for the scientific foundation and technological/applied presentations (Brands, Suppliers, CROs) for tangible solutions.
Here are the 4 themes that will be presented during these two days, each with an in-vitro and an in-vivo approach:
- 1. Hormones influence on Skin & Hair
- 2. Exposome impact on Skin & Hair
- 3. Hydratation evaluation, what’s new?
- 4. Skin & Brain axis
