The 19th edition of the International Symposium by SFC, taking place on the 2nd and 3rd of December 2025 will dive into the future of cosmetology through a rich and forward-thinking scientific programme.
This upcoming edition will explore new perspectives on the following
themes:
- skin biology, applied to both skin and scalp,
- microbiotas, key players in maintaining the skin balance,
- contributions from neuroscience and cognitive science,
- out-of-the-box thinking, driven by open innovation,
- new resources with high potential,
- and disruptive tools, particularly those derived from artificial intelligence.
An ambitious programme, designed to think and build the beauty of tomorrow together.
A unique space for inspiration, encounters and exchanges, this year’s Symposium adopts a hybrid format to reach a wider audience:
- In person: at the Pathé Alésia cinema, 73 avenue du Général Leclerc,
Paris 14th arrondissement - Remotely: via dedicated online access
Another new feature this year: a redesigned sponsorship system that boosts the visibility of partners and offers industry players a greater opportunity to showcase their commitment to the scientific and cosmetics community.
The Symposium by SFC in a nutshell Organised by the French Society of Cosmetology (SFC), this major scientific event gathers researchers, scientists, manufacturers, start-ups, service providers and students who are shaping the future of international cosmetics.
Over the past two decades, the Symposium has become the leading French event for uncovering technological advances, the latest research results and emerging innovations.
A dynamic and fast-paced programme, delivered entirely in English, structured around
- Keynotes: 30-minute plenary lectures given by international experts
- Scientific sessions: 15-minute presentations, selected by a scientific
jury for their relevance, innovative nature and contribution to
cosmetology - Interactive discussion : each session is followed by a question-andanswer session with participants.
Organised in an intimate format, with a capacity of 220 participants, the
Symposium fosters high-quality interactions among a diverse audience:
R&D teams, academic researchers, suppliers, consultants, journalists, innovative start-ups and students. This diversity of participants contributes to create a rich forum for discussion, conducive to the exchange of expertise and the emergence of new collaborations.

About the SFC
Founded in 1951, the French Society of Cosmetology (SFC) now counts over 990 members from industry, academia and research. As a leading learned society, it promotes the sciences of beauty through three pillars: promoting cosmetic research, sharing knowledge and bringing together a network of experts.
It organises major events (“International Symposium”, “Cosmet’Agora”, “Rencontres”, “Thursdays”) and awards several scientific prizes. A founding member of the IFSCC, the SFC is now one of its main scientific contributors on an international scale.
