Q. Please introduce yourselves.
Isabelle Castiel Director of Scientific Communication at L’Oréal / President of IFSCC I am Isabelle Castiel, Director of Scientific Communication at L’Oréal and President of the IFSCC Praesidium for 2025–2026. I hold a Ph.D. in Dermopharmacology from Paris-Saclay University and am a pharmacist by training. I have always been passionate about scientific research and communication, and I firmly believe that cosmetics play a vital role not only in beauty but also in skin health and quality of life. I joined L’Oréal about 27 years ago to apply my expertise to innovation. Today, I oversee how the Group communicates its scientific excellence to the public, grounded in research and knowledge sharing. After joining the IFSCC Board in 2022, I recently served as Vice President of the Scientific Committee and oversaw this year’s IFSCC congress.
Luc Aguilar Chief Scientific Officer, Advanced Research, L’Oréal R&I I am Luc Aguilar, Chief Scientific Officer for Advanced Research at L’Oréal Research & Innovation. My role is to lead breakthrough beauty technologies that can improve the lives of consumers and patients. I have over 25 years of experience spanning biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. I joined L’Oréal more than a decade ago, where I established the biotechnology department and have since focused on natural-origin ingredients and biotech platform development. My areas of expertise include industrial biotechnology, applications in skin and hair, and clinical development, particularly in the skin microbiome field.
