Cosmetotest 2027: The Call for Papers is Open

The sixth edition of Cosmetotest is set for June 2–3, 2027, in Lyon and online. The scientific committee has unveiled the four main themes driving the programme, and is now calling on researchers, clinicians and industry experts to submit their abstracts.

The 2027 themes:

  • The biological clock of skin, scalp and hair: light, time and regeneration
  • Compromised & sensitive skin: beyond the barrier
  • The art of make-up: sensory experience, protection & care
  • Biomarkers as skin storytellers: performance mapping across every layer

Beyond the four thematic areas proposed for Cosmetotest 2027, we encourage contributors to explore a range of cross-cutting themes aligned with current scientific and industrial priorities.

Among the cross-cutting themes we would like to see addressed are:

darker skin tones and the essential multiethnic approach, fostering research and clinical evaluation; connected and mobile diagnostic tools, personalization, and artificial intelligence, illustrating how digital innovation is transforming skin and hair assessment methods; climate and biodiversity: how the environmental variability of ecosystems influences product performance and testing protocols; the skin-brain connection: exploring the growing body of evidence linking neuroscience, psychological well-being, and skin physiology; the microbiome: its role in health, sensitivity, and interaction with skin and scalp products; and new in vitro and ex vivo models, including skin-on-a-chip technologies, as emerging alternatives and complements to traditional testing methods.

This approach will allow us to develop a program reflecting the depth of each theme and the major scientific and technological trends that shape the field today.

Submissions are welcome from academic scientists, clinical and preclinical labs, instrumentation manufacturers and brand researchers alike.
