JEUDIS by SFC : June 25 2026, What advances have been made in cosmetic evaluation: innovations and trends

June, 25th 2026

Programm, the webinar will be in French with the slides in English!

The evaluation of dermocosmetic products is currently undergoing a profound transformation, driven by technological advancements, evolving regulatory requirements, and growing consumer expectations for evidence of efficacy. This presentation offers an overview of the trends reshaping evaluation practices, in light of the latest scientific publications, the lessons learned from the IFSCC 2025 Congress, and Cosmetotest’s field experience.

The first part will focus on the evaluation of radiance and glow, concepts widely used in cosmetic claims but whose scientific characterization remains complex. The various instrumental approaches will be presented to better understand the measured parameters and their relevance to different communication objectives.

The conference will then address the challenges related to the evaluation of the skin microbiota, a rapidly expanding field. The main claims associated with this topic will be analyzed, as well as the in vitro and in vivo methods currently available to support them.

Finally, there will be a focus on the rise of biomarkers and omics technologies (genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics), which are gradually establishing themselves as new standard tools for demonstrating the efficacy of cosmetic products and ingredients. Spanning promising innovations and operational realities, this presentation will provide insights to help anticipate future developments in cosmetic evaluation.
